Windows 7 Pro x64 won't boot Startup Repair doesn't work

When I turned on my computer it got the blue screen of death and then robooted and defaulted to Startup Repair.

The Startup Repair utility runs and can't resolve the issue.* I get the following error:

I am using a ThinkPad T61 running Win7 Pro x64.



The startup repair lists several test that all completed successfully.

it does list a 'root cause foundl:'

A recent driver installation or upgrade may be preveting the system from starting.

Repair action: System files integrity check and repair
Result: Failed. Error code = 0xa
time taken = 4743 ms

I recently started using a USB headset for Skype which is the only think I can think of that has been installed on the computer.

I should also note that I only have the option to run the Startup Repair tool or Boot Windows Normally.* I don't have the option to run in safe mode.
