Default printing to networked Canon i560

I just acquired a laptop running Windows 7. It is wirelessly connected to a home network which includes an XP pc and a Vista Basic laptop (also wireless). The Canon i560 printer is connected through a USB port to the XP pc. I can print from the Vista, but in Windows 7 the system looks for a driver which it is unable to find. The only thing I found on the Canon dowload website was an "addon" which I installed in Windows 7 but this does not help. Surely I don't have to buy a new printer . Any advice would be appreciated.
