Thread: Media Player overwrites all generic holder album art with art from an existing album

I boot PC (WMP 12, 64 bit Windows 7) and open WMP and choose Music view. Wait for upload which is fast. Then any scroll down causes all the un-labelled album art, of around 400 albums out of 4500, to be overwritten by an existing album in my collection chosen apparently at random. I can see no logic to the choice of album to do this.

I can then chose another view, say artist view, and all the previously wrong album art has disappeared all is well - until I choose songs view again and scroll down when all the generic keeper art is overwritten by another different album from my collection. Songs view is the most useful to me.

I have set the player so it does not update from internet.

Can anyone explain this, or help stop it?

Hi Mike,

There are a number of updating features, program and file update in the options area. You have set the player so it does not update from internet but click 'organise' =>options => 'library' tab => and untick retrieve additional info from internet. The other settings for updating/retrieval are in the privacy tab and should also be unticked ...... hope this helps, I'm no expert so anyone else might want to give their tupence worth!
