sort sent items by recipient?
Just switched to IMAP from POP. Using WLM/W7 and my provider is Sky (webmail
provided by googlemail). When I used POP the mail in Sent Items was sorted by
recipient and now it's only sorted by sender, ie me. Not very helpful. Any
way to change that please?

Re: sort sent items by recipient?
You just click on the column heading to sort on that column.
If you are not seeing a recipient column, add it via View (ALT+V),

Thanks, that worked beautifully!

Re: sort sent items by recipient?
Actually it did work beautifully but now I have realised it changes the
settings for all folders! What I want is for my Sent items to be sorted by
recipient and my Inbox sorted by sender (I don't need to know that the email
in my Inbox is addressed to me, or that my Sent Mail is sent by me, I know
that already!) Any way of doing that?

No. AFAIK, that is a global setting; i.e., same across all folders.

Re: sort sent items by recipient?
Is that a sent folder that you created? All user create folders get the
same columns and sort sequence as the Inbox. Even if they are created
as subfolders under the Sent Items.

Re: sort sent items by recipient?
Hi both and thanks for your replies. In answer to you Michael, the Inbox is
default WLM and my Sent Mail is Googlemail IMAP (I deleted WLM's default Sent
Items folder as it was too confusing having more than one). Can I not set the
column prefs for each individual folder?

Re: sort sent items by recipient?
By the way I did not have this problem when I used POP, it was always exactly
as I now want it - it's only since switching to IMAP

Re: sort sent items by recipient?
It's not only because you switched to IMAP... it's because you deleted the
WLM Sent folder. I use WLM's Sent folder w/GMail (of course that means my
Sent messages are stored locally, not on Google's servers) and I have the
sorting capability you are seeking...

Re: sort sent items by recipient?
Ah, thank you. I thought it must be something like that. How would I restore
WLM's Sent folder...?
