Default setting up email accounts in Live

When setting up an email account how do I know which option to use for Log on
    using:
Clear text authentication, Authenticated POP (APOP), or Secure password
    authentication.

Your email service provider should tell you what they use.

Use a browser to go to your ISP's home page. Somewhere you will find a Help
area, or FAQs, or something similar, which will tell you all the settings
you need to set up your email account.

I don't know for your specific service; it varies by service. However, as a
general rule, "Secure Password Authentication" and "Authenticated POP
(APOP)" are rarely used. Your provider will have specific details for your
    service.

If your mail provider doesn't specify otherwise, then use Clear Text
    authentication.
