Thread: What does this mean?

    Default What does this mean?

I have a message stuck in my Outbox. I displayed it and removed the rejected
address, but it still won't send.

The message could not be sent. The authentication setting might not be
correct for your outgoing e-mail [SMTP] server. For help solving this
problem, go to Help, search for "Troubleshoot Windows Live Mail", and read
the "I'm having problems sending e-mail" section. If you need help
determining the proper server settings, please contact your e-mail service
    provider.

The rejected e-mail address was 'quikslv311@aol.com'.

Subject 'Invitation to meet your candidates.'
    Server Error: 550
Server Response: 550 MAILBOX NOT FOUND
    Server: 'smtp.aol.com'
Windows Live Mail Error ID: 0x800CCC79
    Protocol: SMTP
    Port: 25
    Secure(SSL): No

Re-create the message and send it again. Editing in the outbox doesn't
always work properly (if it ever did).

Which has nothing to do with the error message he got. It's telling him the
mailbox (which he elided from the error) wasn't found.

If you're going to try helping, at least be correct.

Did you change the outgoing (SMTP) port number to 587?
Did you check [x] My server requires authentication?
Did you click OK to save the changes?
