How remove yahoo search from new tab window?
Hi,
Somehow Yahoo got hold of the window that opens in IE8 when I click on the
new tab button.
The tab loads the new window with a search window in the middle of the page
that says powered by Yahoo search.
I disabled all references to yahoo in the drop down box that lists search
engines, but the screen remains the same. Every new tab loads with yahoo
search center stage. In the add/remove list, yahoo is nowhere to be found.
If I can't get rid of this, can I uninstall IE8 somehow? There is no way I
want Yahoo in my IE8 browser. Bing, yeah, OK, but not yahoo. The only
thing that has worked for me, is to not use IE, but use Chrome instead.
Yahoo has not infected my Chrome browser.
this is a 64 bit Vista Home Premium SP2 laptop.
Thanks,
Al

I figured it out. I loaded AVG anti-virus and yahoo search came in with it.
It flags known malware sites.
