MVP longevity.

I am at present on the candidate list for MVP status. With the competition, my chances of actually achieving the award are close to nil.

But, reading through the various available texts, associated with MVP's, I have a question. I have been unable to get an answer on the MVP sites.

It does not appear to be ambiguous to me, but clearly states that the MVP award is for one year only. I have been subscribing to these, and other pages, for some years, and I see the same MVP's, still with the title, year after year. Is it in fact an error in the prospectus and, once given, is the award for life?
